ENJOYABLE EVENING

A most* enjoyable entertainment was given by members of the Auckland Grammar School Old Girls' Association to a large number of mothers, friends of Sister Esther.

After the guests had been welcomed by the association president. Miss. E. Penrose, a delightful programme was given. The items included a Dutch dance and a fairy dance, by pupils of Miss Sheet; violin solo. Master Stewart; humorous sketch, Mr. A. McElwain; songs, Miss S. Phillips, Miss M. Burns, Miss McLeod, Messrs. Sutherland, Stewart, Finlayson; recitations, Misses B. and D. Messer, Miss D. Saunders; dances. Misses D. Lethaby and L. Hatnmil: exercises and dances, pupils of Miss Wyatt.

At tho conclusion of the programme supper was served and the guests were each given a bag of cakes and a bunch of flowers as they departed.
