DEVONPORT BRANCH At the usual monthly meeting of the Devonport W.C.T.U., presided over by Mrs. Williams, delegates for the forthcoming convention were appointed, and nominations were received for district officers. The afternoon being social, tho“ visitors were welcomed by the president. During the afternoon items were given by Mrs. Paterosn, Mrs. Lewis. Miss Gladys Malabond. EDEN BRANCH The Eden branch of the W.C.T.U. held its monthly meeting in the Methodist schoolroom. Dominion Road, recently. Mrs. Hi\yr presided over a fair attendance. Delegates wei. appointed to attend the district convention to be held in September. Miss WateYston, a missionary of the South Sea Evangelical Mission, in the Solomon Islands, gave an interesting account of methods in teaching the Bible to the natives. The speaker also detailed the plan of her desire to start a free Bible school for girls in Auckland. Afternoon tea and the benediction brought the meeting to a
