LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

BRANCH MEETINGS The monthly meeting of the League of Moth el's, Manurewa branch, was held last Thursday in the Public Hall, Manurewa, Mrs. C. S. McCullum presiding. After the minutes were read, two letters were received, one from Mrs. Carrol, convener of the first meeting of the local branch, and one from Mrs. Wrigley, late secretary. Both women are leaving the district. Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell and Mrs. Cook came from Auckland to bid them farewell. In the absence of Miss Melville, Lady Gunson gave a short address on “Home Life,” and at the conclusion Mrs. J. T. Mitchell read a letter from a branch of the league in Australia. Mrs. J. Phillips was elected secretary. A dainty tea was served by several of the members, which brought to a close a pleasant afternoon. MRS. VICTOR MACKY AT ONEI-IUNGA The usual monthly meeting of the Onehunga branch of the League of Mothers was held on Thursday in the Orphans’ Hall. The new president. Mrs. W. Jordan, occupied the chair, and made feeling reference to the death of Miss Arey, the late Auckland Provincial Secretary. The members showed their sympathy by standing in silence.
