TRAINS ELIMINATED

FRANKTON-TAURANGA SERVICE From Our Oxen Correspondent MORRINSVILLE, Fridav. The early mixed train from Tauranga, which leaves Morrinsvill** at 5.30 a.m. to connect with the Aucklandbound Limited at Frankton, and the night train from Frankton to Tauranga, which arrives at Morrinsville at 11.30 p.m., are to cease running on and after August 31, as the Railways' Department considers that the goods load carried by them can easily be taken by other trains. It is stated that the night train has been running with a load of only 30 per cent, goods, as it leaves Frankton too soon. A fast goods train from Auckland connects at Frankton with the 3.30 a.m. goods train for Tauranga. which in future will carry the load previously taken by the 11.30 p.m. train. The saving to the department will be about £SO a week in running costs.
