The Waikato Hounds are to visit Tauranga on September 16. The meet will be at Otumoetai on September 19, Papamoa September 22, Gate Pa September 25. A gymkhana will be held on September 24. _ _ . A donation of £2O to the funds of the club has been made by a woman enthusiasts. At the Hospital Board meeting the medical superintendent reported that the average number of patients was 25. Plans for additions and alterations to the Te Puke Maternity Hospital were submitted, but in consequence of the estimates exceeding the amount set down for the job the question was held over. __ , The Visiting Committee reported that a handsome rock garden had been made at the front entrance to the Jiospital grounds. The Borough Council had supplied the rocks free and work was done by voluntary labour. The matron, Miss Murray, tendered her resignation, to take effect from November 30.
The annual “break-up” dance of the District High School was held on Thursday evening and was a pronounced success. The scholars attended in large numbers and a very large number of adults also took part. The hall had been tastefully decorated by the boys and girls.
