AMATEUR QUARTER-FINALS PLAYED AT MELBOURNE SLOAN MORPETH DEFEATED MELBOURNE, Tuesday. Eight players contested the quarter finals of the Victorian amateur golf championship at Cheltenham links today. Ryan heat Withers, 5 up and 4; Whitton beat Sloan Morpeth (the titleholder). 4 up and 2; Nettlefold beat TJulte, 5 and 4; and Edgar beat Jacksou, 3 and 2.-
