HOME-MADE WINE SOLD
MANUFACTURER FINED STOCK AND PLANT FORFEITED Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. Reserved judgment was delivered by Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., yesterday in' which Reggie Uncles, of Fitzroy, was fined £lO on a charge of while not having a licence he sold three bottles of beer to Andrew Hansen. He was facturing wine for* sale without a* licence. The smaller penal ty was because much confusion existed as to the legal requirement of a licence to make wine for sale from parts of plants other than fruit, such as parsnip, rhubarb or beetroot wine. Defendant was ordered to pay costs. The liquor and containers ■were forfeited. An appeal against the forfeiture order is possible on the ground that Uncles was not proved to be the occupier of the premises.
