INTERNATIONAL PEACE

WOMEN'S LEAGUE MEETS Continued interest in and sympathy with the Samoan cause is felt by the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom which held its fortnightly meeting in the Y.W.C.A. yesterday afternoon. Mrs. B. Cassidy presided. It was decided to write to Masiofo Tamasese assuring her of the league's sympathy. On the subject of military training the meeting passed the following resolution: “That in view of the threatened restoration of compulsory military training the Parliamentary Labour Party be urged to bring forward the Bill for its complete abolition at the earliest opportunity.” Preliminary arrangements were made for entertaining Miss Eleanor Moore on her return from the PanPacific Conference.
