MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BANQUET
Y.M.C.A. FUNCTION IN HAMILTON On Saturday evening the Women’s Auxiliary Committee of the Y.AI.C.A. organised its first mother and daughter banquet. _ * The social hall of the Y.M.C.A. was gaily decorated with streamers of black red and yellow, and on the long table’were lovely bulbs and bowls of daphne. . The president of the association, Mrs. Kent-Johnson, was hostess, and after welcoming her guests she introduced to them two visitors from Auckland. Mrs. Bradstreet, president of the Y.W.C.A. in Auckland, and Aliss McCrae, well known as secrete rv of the girls’ work and chief councillor of the Girls’ Citizen League. Later both of the visitors and Airs. Kent-Johnson were presented with bouquets from those present. All listened later with great interest to the able talks given by these women. Airs. Bradstreet gave a talk on the work still waiting to be done by women and Miss ArcCrae on the work done by girls in the Girls’ Citizen League. During the banquet the usual toasts were honoured and later a pleasant programme had been arranged, community singing being led by Aliss Angland. Toast, “Our Mothers,” Aliss P. Rae; song, Miss Alison Holmes; response. Airs. Bradstreet, and address; recitation, Aliss Iris Andrews; song, Airs. C. F. Sherley; toast, “Our Daughters," Mrs. Dixon, the first secretary of tho Hamilton Auxiliary; recitation. Airs. A. W. Green; song. Airs. F. Mason; address on the Girl Citizen Alovement, Aliss McCrae; toast, “Our Homes,” Aliss G. James: song, Airs. E. Bouillon; response, Aliss Treloar; toast, “Our Churches,” Airs. Fow; song, Mrs. C. A. Sherley; response. Mrs.. Rodgers; toast., “Our Fathers,” Airs. Cheesman; thanks, Airs. G. R. Barnett; “Auld Lang Sync” and “God Save the King” ended a very interesting evening-
