EfSOM BRANCH * The Epsom branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, held its monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon in the Methodist Hall, when a good attendance of members and friends was presided over by Mrs. Benfell. A report of the work of the temperance still at the recent Winter Show stated that over 900 boys and girls of our day schools had signed the temperance pledge. Selected readings on the early days of temperance work by women in Auckland were given, and a fine tribute paid to the late Sir Robert Stout, an unceasing advocate of prohibition.
