Dancing and Music MR. R. SINGER IN THE CHAIR On Saturday the Philistines Club held a most delightful evening in the Amateur Operatic Hall. There was a large number of members and friends present, among whom were members of the English and New Zealand football teams. - Mr. R. A. Singer was in the chair and during the evening an excellent programme was presented, which included * the following items:—A song by Mrs. Wallace Good: a sketch entitled “Mock Monday,” by Miss Audrey Perry and Mr. Jack Gordon: original recitation by Mrs. Victor Macky; song by Mr. Frank Sutherland; humour by Miss Linda Murphy; a violin solo by Mr. Ronald Muston, and a playette, “Tiro Great Moment," bv the Philistine Players. Accompaniments were played by Mrs. Charles Prime, Mrs. Bird and Miss Beryl Muston. Supper was served, after which a most enjoyable evening was brought to a close with dancing, the music being supplied by the Amateur Syncopators. Among those present were:—Mrs. R. A.
