JOLLY DANCE PARTY A party to celebrate the coming- ofage of their daughter Jean was given by Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lopdell at their residence. 32 Marewa Road, on Friday evening. The roors were decorated with iceland poppies, rhododendrons, violets and multi-coloured balloons. The guest of honour wore a frock of daffodil taffeta, with a wide hem of green taffeta and tulle. Mrs. Lopdell wore a wine-coloured chenille frockAmong those present were: Mrs. Montgomery, who wore a gown of black and white crepe de chine; Miss ?r<s £ ink georgette and lace; 3 Wallace, peacock-blue satin; Miss Mildred Reed, dark green and gold tinsel; Miss Eileen Utting, powder-blue crepe de chine; Miss Marjorie Carson, black velvet; Miss May Taylor, vieux rose crepe de chine; Miss Marjorie Montgomery, olive-green chenille; Miss Grace Penman, green chiffon velvet, relieved with pink and gold trimmings; Miss Kathleen .Christie, cyclamen floraU taffeta and silver lace; Miss Margaret Fountain, green chenille and taffeta and tulle. Miss Phyllis Conway, apricot lace ? v H r Miss Nancy Kendon, pink taffeta and diamente trimming: Miss Gwyn Brown, black satin and apricot flower, Miss May Williams, blue and tangerine floral ninon; Miss Gladys Binnie, powder-blue georgette and satin: Miss Joan Chapman, apple-green georgette and tulle frills; Miss Molly Hargreaves, frock of sky-blue frilled taffeta and gold lace.
