ENJOYABLE AT HOME

ST. JOHN’S SOCIAL COMMITTEE Mrs. T. 11. Roseveare, president of the Papatoetoe branch of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union, presided over a large attendance of members and friends at the fourth At Home, organised by the St. John’s Social Committee and held in the Presbyterian Church Hall, Great South Road. Papatoetoe. on Thursday afternoon. Tho hall was prettily decorated with tall vases of Iceland poppies set amid masses of golden wattle. An enjoyable programme of musical items was contributed by Quin. Jellard, Payter and Mr. Salter, vocal solos; Mesdames Payter and Willis and Dr. J. J. Valentine and Mr. Salter, vocal duets; Misses R. Kirkbride and Leah Roseveare, elocutionary items: Rev. T. H. Roseveare. character song. Tho stalls were in charge of Mesdames Muir, Hunter and Wells, home produce and fancy; Misses M. Foster and J. Knight, sweets. Afternoon tea arrangements were in charge of Mesdames J. McFarland and A. W. Hall.
