BAND AT ZOO ON SUNDAY
Some fine music will be played by the Municipal Band at the Zoological Park on Sunday afternoon, at 2.45. The particular attention of music-lovers is called to two outstanding numbers included in the programme—Beethoven’s “Leonore” No. 3 overture, and a superb suite, “The Garden of Allah,” by Landon Ronald. The latter contains four characterisatic movements of great beauty—“ Prelude,” “The Garden of Count Antesin,” “Ivyrie Eleison,” and “Th» Dance of the OuledNail.” Marches, “Radio” and “Honour the King.” arc played for the first time. Other favourite numbers are also included.
Ernest Vilches, Castilian actor, has been placed under contract for work in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer foreign language dialogue productions. For the past 20 years Vilches has been at the head of his own theatrical company. He is said to be the only actor possessing personal autographs of every member of European royalty.
