FUNDS FOR UNEMPLOYED

ENTERTAINMENT AT HENDERSON A dramatic entertainment to provide funds for work for the unemployed of the district was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Henderson, on Thursday evening. The chairman, Mr. Haythornthwaite, while welcoming Mrs. Griffiths and party in his opening remarks, drew the attention of those present to the splendid work of the Women’s Institute In the district. During the evening items were given by Miss Craig, Mrs. Griffiths and Mr. Griffiths. At the conclusion of the programme Mr. and Mrs. Griffiths gave a small play entitued “The New Dressmaker.” A display of velvet paintings was given by Mrs. Jennings. The evening was concluded with a dance.
