TARANAKI SCHOLARSHIPS

SCOPE OF ENDOWMENT Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday. A strong protest against the proposal of the Victoria University College Counci! that the scope of the Taranaki Scholarship Endowment should be widened so as to include students outside the province was made by a deputation to the Minister of Education, the Hon. H. Atmore. The deputation represented every local body in the Taranaki Province.

It was urged that as the fund was accumulating, wider facilities should be given to students of the district to continue their studies in the higher branches of education.

Ip reply, the Minister stated he v. culd place the representations of the deputation before Cabinet.
