HON. J. TREVETHICK HONOURED

To mark the appointment to the Legislative Council of the lion. J. Trevethick, a complimentary function was tendered yesterday by the members of the Auckland Provincial Executive of the United Political Organisation. The chairman, Mr. F. H. Bush, presided. In proposing the toast of the guest Mr. Burbush referred to the long public service rendered by Mr. Trevethick as a member of the Auckland City Council. as a trustee of the Auckland Savings Bank, and as chairman of the Auckland Sailors’ Home Council. Reference was also made to Mr. Trevethick’s long service as a member of various Liberal organisations and as a member of the United Paz*ty since its formation. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, Mr. G C. Munns, M.P., for Roskill, Mr. J. Rea, Mr. T. Michaels, and Mr. C. Clarke, chairman of the junior organisation, supported the toast.
