FIRE IN FIJI

SLEEPING HOUSES BURNED IN NATIVE TOWN CAUSED BY WOMAN SUVA, Wednesday. In the native town of Serua, on the coast about 40 miles south-west of Suva, 22 sleeping-liouses and 15 kitchens were completely destroyed by fire at midnight on Monday. The outbreak was caused by a woman lighting a fire in a strong wind. A shortage of water hampered efforts to check the flames. There were no casualties.
