TIMARU WEDDING

BRIDE AND MAID WEAR BEAUTIFUL GOWNS GIBSON—LYNCH A wedding of interest in Auckland was celebrated at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Timaru, on June 3, when Miss Patricia Cecilia Lynch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Lynch, of Timaru, was married to Mr. James Michael Gibson, son of Sub-Inspector T. Gibson and Mrs. Gibson, of Auckland, and formerly of Timaru and Christchurch.

The Rev. Father Gordon and Father Meegan, of Mosgiel, officiated. Miss Dorothy Mason was organist, and Miss Mary Martin played the church bells. During nuptial mass the bride’s mother sang Gounod’s “Ave Maria,” with violin obbligato played by Miss Leila Grieg.

The bride was given away by her father, and wore a gown of parchment tinted crepe chamois. The slim-fitting corsage, with deep V-cut decolletage, was embroidered with pearls and rhinestones, and the long full skirt was embroidered in the same way round the uneven hem. The veil of tulle, lightly traced with silver thread, was banded across the head and worn with a chaplet of orange blossom. She carried an ivorybound Prayer Book.

Miss F. Lynch, the attendant maid, was frocked in palest pink crepe chamois designed on picture lines, with slender bodice and soft georgette cape collar of the same shade of pink. The very full skirt was inset with a panel of narrow frills of mellow tinted french lace mounted on pink georgette, and fell in peacock line to graduated ankle length. Her wide-brimmed capeline felt hat was of the same shade, the brim upturned in front from the face, and caught with a jewelled buckle. She carried a posy of pink chrysanthemums.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr, P. Gibson, of Auckland, as best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Stafford, where Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Lynch received their guests, the latter wearing a frock of black satin made with a deep fitting hip yoke and bodice inset with a pleated vestee of cream georgette, and relieved with embroidery. Her hat was of black, and her bouquet of goldenshaded chrysanthemums. Mrs. T. Gibson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a floral crepe de chine gown patterned in shades of burgundy and beige, with a black face cloth coat with grey mole fur collar and cuffs’ and a black felt hat. She carried a posy of vivid chrysanthemums.

CLEANING WINDOWS

31! you want to clean windows quickly wipe them over carefully with a cloth wrung out in warm water, then rub with a tiny sponge dipped in methylated spirit. Polish finally with a soft, dry duster, or some very soft tissue paper, and your windows should have a brilliant polish with very little rubbing.
