FIRE IN BAZAAR

OVER £IOO,OOO DAMAGE IN INDIAN QUARTER FIFTEEN SHOPS GUTTED DELHI, Wednesday. The famous bazaar of Chandni Chowk was the scene of one of the biggest fires ever experienced. In this bazaar most of the. leading exchange banks and offices are over the shops. The fire began in a shop below the National Bank of India. Fifteen shops were gutted, while the National Bank’s premises were burned to ashes. The damage is estimated at more than £IOO,OOO. The cause of the fire is unknown.
