BADMINTON MATCHES
MORRINSVILLE V. TE AROHA BIG WIN RECORDED From Our Oicn Correspondent MORRINSVILLE, Today. On Thursday evening the Morrinsvill Club played its first match of the season, when it met the St. Mark’s Club from Te Aroha in Morrinsville. Though the Morrinsville team won by a substantial margin of 15 games to 1, a number of the games were closely contested, the visitors being unable to secure the vantage points. The difference in the height of the hall was a considerable handicap to the Te Aroha players, who' had been used to a low hall. In the combined doubles the Morrinsville pairs held a distinct advantage, working with greater combination. The men’s and women’s doubles were much more even. The scores were: Combined Doubles. —Miss Thomas and K. Hopkins beat Miss Corcoran and R. Caudwell, 15 —7; Mrs. Milburn and C. Mallett beat Miss Pilling and H. Pearce, 15 —6; Miss Is. Watts and A. Thomas beat Miss Timmins and J Hannan, 15—6; Miss D. Watts and B Watson beat Miss B. Heathcote and F Bliss, 15 —8; Miss Hopkins and J Hawkins beat Miss O.
