LADY BLEDISLOE VISITS PLUNKET HOME

BUSY AFTERNOON Yesterday afternoon a visit to the Plunket rooms in Sjmonds Street and ! to the Karitane Home in Mount | was paid by her Excellency Lady Bledisloe. On arrival at the Plunket rooms her Excellency, who was accompanied by Mrs. A. T. Bathurst, was received by Lady Sinclair Lockhart, vice-president of the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society. in the absence of the president, Mrs W. H. Parkes, who is indisposed. Sister Gaulstone, matron in charge of the district work, Miss Eileen Partridge, secretary of the Plunket Society, and Miss Statliam, assistant-secretary. The nurses, to each of whom Lady Bledisloe was personally introduced, | formed a guard of honour both at the Plunket rooms and at the Karitane Hospital. On behalf of Mrs. Parkes, her Excellency was presented with a beautiful bouquet of cyclamen and orchids at -4he Plunket rooms. Lady Bledisloe showed keen interest in the work which both institutions are doing. Afternoon tea was served at the hospital by Matron McLean and the nurses. Among the members of the committee who were present were: Mrs. R. S. Whitney, Mrs. Donald-Ogilvie, Mrs. G. Cruickshank, Mrs. Moorhouse, Airs. Culpan, Mrs. Worrall, Mrs. Hodson, Mrs. E. Fitchett, Mrs. Dawson. Mrs. Cowan, Miss Robb, Mrs. David Nathan, Mrs. Turley, Mrs. Penman, Mrs. C. Hudson, Mrs. Woodhead.
