TARANAKI BURSARIES

OPPOSITION TO SENATE STRATFORD, Today. The Borough Council last evening passed the following resolutions: ‘That the Government be asked for an assurance that it will depose any move or effort on the part of either the Victoria University College authorities or the New Zealand University Senate to deprive the people of Taranaki of the sole beenfits arising from the Opaku Reserve. “That copies of this resolution be forwarded through Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, and also that copies be sent to all other local bodies and members of Parliament in Taranaki and their support be sought thereto.”
