MORRINSVILLE NEWS
Mr. J. H. Wyatt, who has been manager of the Morrinsville branch of the National Bank of Hew Zealand for the past five years, has received notice of his transfer to the Pukekolie branch, and leaves Morrinsville in a few weeks. He will be succeeded by Mr. C. A. Peat, who has been relieving at the Te Aroha branch of the bank for some months. Mr. Wyatt has taken an active part In several activities of Morrinsviii<& and is people’s warden of St. Matthew’s (Anglican) Church and treasurer of the Morrinsville Horticultural Society.
The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. John Brosnan, a well-known farmer of Ho. S Road, Tatuanui. Mr. Brosnan had resided in the Morrinsville district for about seven years and was widely respected by a large circle of friends. He had been in ill-health for some time and went into hospital last week. He leaves a wife and four young children.
Mf. Roland Jones, who was injured in a collision between the motor-cycle he was riding and a car, in Studholm Street on April 23, returned home on Wednesday from the Waikato Hospital, but he will be unable to work for some time.
The members of the Tatuanui Croquet Club organised a working bee to renovate their lawns, which have been damaged by the recent dry weather and the attack of the grass grub. Last week 14 men and eight women hi embers attended, and under the supervision of Messrs. A. and R. Hockey, of Morrinsville, who gave their advice and assistance voluntarily, the work was accomplished in splendid fashion. As a result of this concerted effort the lawns should be in excellent order for next season.
