Lezard, will retire next Saturday, after over 40 years’ service in the Railway Department. Mr. Lezard began as a cadet at Christchurch, and worked his way up to more responsible positions in various centres. Seven years ago lie took up his present position. Mr. Lezard was responsible for manv radical changes, which facilitated the handling and dispatch of goods traffic from VV ellington.
