The most recent Nev Zealand representative from this school is H. W. Brown, who accompanied the 1924 team to England and the 1926 team to Australia. A new lad has now been sent forth to bear the banner of the Xew Plymouth High School in the 19-year-old Kenneth H. Gibbons, who captains the Wanganui team in the first match against the British team. Playing at first five-eighth, Gibbons has a fine record already. He played for the Xew Plymouth High School from 1927 to 1929, both years inclusive, representing the school in fifteen inter-col-legiate fixtures, of which his team won thirteen. On several occasions his wonderful place-kicking turned defeat into victory for his side, and ho is now regarded as the greatest five-eighth who has ever played for the school. Last winter he represented Wanganui in matches against Wellington, Wairarapa, Manawhenua, and Otago, and this year the Wanganui selector. Dr. Adams, is so impressed with his ability as a player that he has been selected as captain of the side.
