PHEASANT TAKEN FROM CAR From Our Own Correspondent WHANGAREI, Monday. A well-known tVaipu settler was the victim of a mean theft. He shot a fine pheasant which he placed in the back of his car. He drove to his brother’s front gate and. leaving his car on the.side of the road, climbed the hill to the residence. He noticed a car. which had evidently- been following him, pull up alongside his own car, and saw- the driver take the pheasant, accelerating his car and disappear.
