HIS BELT SLIPPED
PARACHUTIST DROPS TO DEATH LIKE A STONE THOUSANDS LOOK ON Reed. 12.20 p.m. PARIS, Monday. A parachutist named Langer, in making his 78th descent from an airplane at Gelderm, failed securely to fasten his body-belt. He became detached from his parachute in mid-air, fell like a stone to earth and died a horrible death in the sight of thousands of spectators.
