INDIA GOVERNMENT’S EDICT OPPOSED WILL NOT COMPLY CALCUTTA, Wednesday. The Government has promulgated an ordinance requiring the proprietors of certain extremist newspapers to furnish a security deposit as a pledge of good behaviour and abstention-from printing seditious matter. At Delhi the newspaper proprietors concerned refuse to comply with the ordinance. They say they are prepared to cease publishing their journals if the Government takes decisive action.
