FERRIES DAMAGED

YESTERDAY’S COLLISION IN SYDNEY FOG PASSENGERS UNHURT SYDNEY, Wednesday. Both the Manly ferry Curlcurl and the Sydney terry Kiandra, which collided in the fog yesterday, were travelling slowly, the Curlcurl being outward bound and the Kiandra inward bound from Mosman. The large steel Manly steamer crashed through the side of the smaller wooden craft. The Curlcurl s stem was slightly bent and pieces of timber from the Kiandra were embedded in a hole in her bow plating. There were only a few passengers on board either vessel. Some of those on the Kiandra scrambled up a ladder to the deck of the Curlcurl while the ships were temporarily locked toBe subsequeutly the Kiandra limped to the wharf, where her passengeis landed. She was leaking badly and was towed away for repairs. The Curlcurl was also withdrawn temporarily for the same purpose.
