DRAGGED FROM PLANE

PARACHUTE OPENS EARLY AND KILLS MECHANIC PILOT CRASHES TO SEA Reed. 9.15 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. An Air Force plane crashed at Hornchurch. The pilot, in landing by a parachute, was unharmed. A mechanic who was flying at Viborg was not so lucky. A parachute affixed to his back suddenly opened at a high altitude, plucking him from the machine and dashing him to death against the tail. His corpse sank slowly to the ground attached to the parachute.

The plane lost balance and crashed into the sea, killing the pilot.
