? ” ' ALLEN—BRIGGS At St. Barnabas Church on Monday afternoon the marriage took place of Elsie Myrtle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Briggs, of Mount Eden, and George Edwards, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Alien, of Brighton, England. The service was performed by the Rev. Air. Harvie and Air. P. B. Sommer, uncle of the bride, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a Victorian frock of ivory georgette over ivory satin. Her veil of tulle was caught to the head with sprays of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet. Aliss Xetta Reynolds and Aliss Doris Hodgson were maids and wore Victorian frocks in blue and lemon georgette respectively. They carried bouquets to match their frocks. Two little flower girls, nieces of the bride, were in attendance. Alary Briggs, who wore smart sunset pink, and Fiona Briggs, in apple green. Both frocks were made alike in Victorian style, and they carried flowers to tone. Air. A. Briggs carried out the duties of best man and Air. R. Alullance was groomsman. The reception which followed was held at the Alount Eden Tea Kiosk, where Airs. Briggs received her guests wearing a frock of lido blue crepe de chine, with a black bat and black silk coat. To travel in the bride wore a blue wool ci*epe de chine frock with a blue hat and a fur-trimmed beige face cloth
