ANKLE-LENGTH GOWN - OF IVORY FAILLE
GREEN AND DAFFODILCOLOURED BRIDESMAIDS’ FROCKS APPLEBY—SMITH A frock of ivory satin faille was chosen by Aliss Grace Miller, of Remuera. when she was married to Mr. E. Appleby, only son of Airs. Xelson, of Taupaki, on Wednesday evening, at ■ St. Luke’s Church, Remuera. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. A. Thompson. Given away by Air. E. Gordon Hanson, the bride wore her gown ankle-length, the full skirt forming an uneven hemline. Her tulle veil was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom and pearls, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink and cream flowers. Aliss Joyce Smith and Miss* Xella Wilson were bridesmaids, wearing frocks of apple green and daffodil floral georgette respectively, and headdresses of gold tissue and tulle. They carried bouquets to tone. The two little flower-girls, Joyce Gray and Shirley Hanson, wore frocks of shrimpoink satin and georgette, and carried Victorian posies to match their frocks. Mr. George Birkenhead, of Xgatea. was best man, and Mr. J. Clarke was groomsman.. Later a reception was held at the Alount Eden Tea Kiosk, where Mrs. E. Gordon Hanson, who acted as hostess, received the guests in a frock of mulberry moire velvet, with fox furs and a black satin hat. Mrs. Xelson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black georgette frock with a coat trimmed with skunk fur and a hat to match.
