NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Xorthcote Borough Council met Just evening, the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Creenslade. presiding. The Mayor was appointed the council's representative to attend a meeting to be held in the Auckland City Council Chambers on May 5, for the purpose of hearing evidence from all interested parties to determine the boundaries of the region comprising the City of Auckland and surrounding districts. The Commissioner of Transport advised that the civil engineer for tli© department had recently discussed the question of classification of roads within the borough with the Mayor*. He had inspected the various roads in the borough, and had advised him that, with the exception of the fifth-class loads, tli© council’s classification was reasonable and suitable to the present traffic requirements of the district. He, however, recommended that the roads classified as fifth-class be reclassified as fourth class, and added that lie would be pleased to have the views of the council on the subject. The council decided that the present classification was suitable to the borough s requirements. The borough overseer was instructed by the council to prepare a report to be submitted to the council in connection with the sanitary arrangements end drainage for the whole of AVaimena Estate.
