A WEAK SALE
LITTLE GUY PASSED AT 600GNS Special to THE SUN STRATFORD, Today. There was a large attendance of trotting owners at Mr. J. R. Corrigan’s annual sale of bloodstock yesterday, but buyers were scarce. Some attractive looking youngsters by Worthy Bingen were paraded, prices ranging to 40 guineas. There was spirited competition for Little Guy, who reached 600 guineas, the bid of Mr. G. A. McMillan, but this the vendor would not accept. Sixty guineas was the best offer for Sister Beatrice, the trotter being passed in, as well as all others in training.
GUY BINGEN IN AGAIN
DISQUALIFICATION LIFTED Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The New Zealand Trotting Board this evening gave judgment on the appeal of F. G. Taverner, owner, and G. McKewen, trainer, against the decision of the Invercargill Trotting Club on March 5 disqualifying them and the hors© Guy Bingen for 12 months. The club held that the two performances of the horse in running third in a mile and a-lialf harness race .and winning a mile saddle race xvere inconsistent and unsatisfactory. The board held that the performances were inconsistent, but that there was no evidence to support the finding that the running was unsatisfactory, implying moral blame. The appeals were allowed, and the disqualification removed. The club was ordered to pay over the stake of the Tahatimu Handicap to the owner of Guy Bingen. TARANAKI ACCEPTANCES Owners and trainers are reminded that acceptances for the Taranaki Trotting Ciub’s annual meeting close at 9.30 o’clock tonight with the secretary, at New Plymouth.
