HAMPTON PARK TO REST
The Australian-bred colt, Hampton Park, is not to race again until next season. There is nothing wrong with him, but he is to be added to the list this week and will then have a respite. Since purchasing Hampton Park for 500 guineas. Mr. A. E. Watkins has received a return of nearly a third on his outlay, principally due to the son of Tarquin winning in his initial appearance on the turf. The youngster gives a lot of promise, however and next term he may repay his owner for his enterprise.
; Prince and Desert Glow, members of F. Loomb’s team, were sent home after racing at Ellerslie. Pegaway’s Easter win has earned him a spell until next season. / Te Rapa Jrainer R. A. Edwards has Flying Juliet at Ellerslie, but she will not race until the second day of the Avondale meeting. A number of visiting trainers took up their quarters at the Avondale course following on the racing at Ellerslie, and a further exodus to the suburban track will take place today. W. J. Wilson, with Sir Mond; A. Cook, with Tenakoe: and members of F. Loomb’s stable, go across this afternoon.
