FEILDING PRESIDENT HONOURED Transferred to the Hamilton branch of the Union Bank of Australia from Feilding last month. Air. A. E. Sandford attended the autumn meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club last weekend for the last time in the capacity of president of that progressive club. During the recent meeting the members of the Feilding Jockey Club met Mr. Sandford, and presented him with a pair of Zeiss field-glasses, and subsequently the committee also presented Air. Sandford with an enlarged photograph of the executive of the club. Alany speakers referred to the severe loss the club has sustained through the departure of Air. Sandford, and enthusiastic references were made to the energetic measures made by him to establish the Feilding Jockey Club as one of the most progressive and popular clubs in the Dominion. The comprehensive scheme of improvements recently carried out to the course, and appointments, were largely brought about by the president’s foresight and forethought, and it was due to bis efforts that the Feilding course has just claims to be considered one of the best outside the centres.
