SERGEANT WHO WROTE ‘ BEST SELLER’’ A police-sergeant, who has written a “best-seller,” retired recently after 26 years’ service in the English police force. John Hopker’s “Summons Headings” would not be recommended for* light reading, but thousands of police officers know its value. It is in its sixth edition, 50,000 copies have been sold, and it has been praised by three successive Commissioners of Police, says the "Daily Chronicle.” The book contains 300 model summons headings for service on defendants, including those under the latest regulations, based oil Acts of Parliament, and Lord ByDg describes it as very useful for police officers in an important section of their duty. Sergeant Hopker was for 15 years coroner’s officer at Acton.
