If enthusiasm counted for success the Taupiri Sub-Union would hold pride of place in Rugby football. The seven-aside tournament proved that assertion. Of the 12 entries, HCuntly could have placed four teams in the field, but to save a bye, withdrew one. Prankton and Taupiri B team fought out the final, the former running out victors by 21 points and receiving a miniature cup apiece for their afternoon’s efforts. Frankton was on its own in handling the oval. A noteworthy incident in the series of matches was that the well-known Leaguers, Jackaways Brothers (Noel and Bert), Jim Farrell. Cliff Hill, West and others were out for Taupiri. These players will probably be found playing the Rugby code this year, as the senior Taupiri League Club has disbanded. ONEWHERO CLUB From Our Own Correspondent TUAKAU, Thursday. The annual meeting of the Onewhero Rugby Football Club elected the following officers. Patron, Air. C. "Walter; president, Air. C. Parsons; secretary. Air. H. A. Murray; delegates to P’ranklin subunion, Alessrs. L. Cathcart and G. Hickey. -Mr. A. Cathcart was elected a life member.
