COMEDIAN’S CLAIM

QUARRELS WITH J.C.W. OVER WAGES BILL COURT ACTION QUASHED Press Association WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Ernest Lotinga proceeded against W r illiamson, Limited, in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court today, claiming £75 allegedly owing to him, but the case came to a sudden end when Mr. T. B. McNeil, S.M., decided he had no jurisdiction. The comedian's claim is that Williamson, Limited, agreed to pay him a share of the profits with a guarantee of not less than £2OO a week to be paid each week, and that for the week ending March 28 he was paid only £125, the claim being for the balance. Mr. McNeil’s decision was on the ground that J. C. Williamson, Limited, was insufficiently described in the complaint as carrying on business in Wellington and elsewhere in New Zealand as theatrical managers.—P.A.
