VAN PLUNGES OVER BANK

THEN BURSTS INTO FLAMES YOUNG DRIVER ESCAPES Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. A remarkable escape from death was experienced today by Mr. Victor Milne, a young man, when a motor delivery van he was driving hurtled over a 20 foot bank and burst into flames. The accident occurred on a corner and the van crashed through a fence and rolled down the bank. Mr. Milne freed himself from the damaged vehicle in time to escape from burns. He went to a house for assistance and, on returning to the scene, fainted. His condition tonight was satisfactory, extensive bruising being his only apparent injury, apart from shock.
