ANNUAL MEETING OF TE KUITI BRANCH OF PLUNKET SOCIETY

The annual meeting of the Te Kuiti branch of the Blunket Society was held 'in the Borough Council Chambers on Alonday evening, the Mayor, Air. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., presiding over a large attendance. The balance sheet disclosed that the finances of the society were in a satisfactory position. In presenting the annual report, the president, Airs. J. C. Rolleston, stated that the past year had been a most satisfactory one for the society, a steady growth being maintained. The annual effort to raise funds would take the form of the usual “shop,” which would be held in May. The resignation of the treasurer. Air. F. S. Duncanson, was noted with regret, his successor being Air. A. D. McLennan. The thanks of the committee were due first of all to Nurse Nelson for her devotion to duty, and also to the various organisations which had assisted the society in various ways. The report of the sub-branch, submitted by the president, Airs. A. D. Robison, showed satisfactory progress during the year. The new rest room for the use of the nurse was much appreciated. Thanks were due to the women s division of the Farmers’ Union for assistance given. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mrs. Rolleston; vice-presidents Mesdames Dunkley, Rothery, Broadfoot, and Boles; treasurer. Air. A. W. Whyte: secretary, Aliss D. C. Hill; general committee, Alesdames De Castro, Evans, Fraser, Gresham, Cooper, Isaac, Alexander. "Wilson! Sister Hay. Xicholls, Whyte and Alueller: honorary committee, Alesdames F. O. Hewetson, Kennedy, Hine, Cochrane, Hetet. Tapp, Rolleston, Tate and Alessrs. Rolleston, Broadfoot and Blyth Harper; advisory committee, Alessrs. Hine, Cato and Dr. Isaac.
