CHEERY GIFT PARTY" AT NORTHCOTE
BRIDE-ELECT ENTERTAINED BY FIANCE’S SISTER Lovely autumn blooms decorated the drawing room at Mrs. B. L. Wrightson’s home, Gladstone Road, Northcote, last evening, when Miss Doreen Wrightson entertained for her future sister-in-law. Miss Ola Hitchings, whose marriage to Mr. J. Wrightson will be celebrated this month. Each guest brought a gift for the bride-to-be, and there was much merriment over a guessing competition as to what each parcel contained. Miss Joyce Minns was the prize-winner. A very jolly evening was spent with music and competitions, and after supper an inspection of the young guest’s “pretties” kept everyone very interested. Airs. Wrightson was wearing a black satin beaute gown, and Miss Doreen Wrightson was frocked in autumnshaded floral chiffon. Miss Hitchings chose a pretty figured silk frock in blue tonings. Among the guests were; Airs. Stewart, Aliss V. Jones, Aliss Helen Taylor, Aliss Olive Maxwell, Aliss Alaisie Newman, Miss Karo McGill, Aliss Barbara Potter, Aliss Florence Jones, Miss Biddy Wrightson, and Aliss Joyce Alinns.
