BOXING ON MONDAY

GOOD CONTEST PROMISED PAUL SHOWS GOOD FORM Great interest is being taken in the boxing contest between Ted Morgan, ex-Olympic welter-weight champion, and Jack Paul, the New Zealand welter-weight who has been brought across from Australia, at the Town Hall next Monday evening. This will be the first contest of the new season, and it promises to be a really fine bout. Aucklanders have been waiting to see Morgan in action, and the opportunity has been given. Paul is nefct very well known in Auckland. but he has -a creditable record in Australia. including wins over Billy Richards, whom the Northern Boxing Association a few months ago considered bringing to Auckland. Therefore Paul must be a better proposition and in his workouts at Henry Donovan’s gymnasium in Parnell, has shown good form. He is in excellent condition, and believes that he can give Morgan something to think about. Morgan has not yet arrived in Auckland.
