PROF. SPEIGHT RESIGNS
NOW CURATOR OF MUSEUM Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Professor Speight has resigned from the chair of geology at Canterbury College and will in future devote ail his time to the duties of curator of the Canterbury Museum, which now occupy part of his time. Professor Speight has been for 40 years in the servwfe of the Canterbury College Board. He was a master at the Boys’ High School until 1903, when he was appointed lecturer in geology. Later he was given full professorial rank. The Canterbury College Board today decided not to appoint a professor in geology, but a full-time lecturer at a salary of £6OO per annum.
