BYRD’S STAY IN N.Z.
ROTORUA VISIT REFUSED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Government extended to RearAdmiral Byrd an invitation to visit the thermal district before he left for tho United States of America. Yesterday, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs, who extended the invitation on behalf of the Government, received the following telegram: “I should be delighted to accept the cordial invitation you extend to visit the thermal regions of the North Island as the guest of the Government. Unfortunately, business affairs of the expedition will require my presence in Dunedin for some days.”
