EMPIRE GAMES NOMINEES NEXT YEAR’S CHAMPIONSHIPS Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today, j With reference to the Empire Games • to be held in' Canada in August tho I New Zealand Swimming Council has • decided to inform the Otago, Canterbury and Auckland centres that it is prepared to nominate R. Calder (diving), L. J. Moorhcuse (backstroke) j and G. Bridson (free style) and to ' support each nomination to the extent I of £SO, the centres concerned to find J the balance. * I The amount required for each competitor was stated to be £l2O. Next year’s senior swimming championships will be held at Wanganui and the junior and intermediate championships at Ashburton.
