N.Z. RETURN AWAITED
WAITEMATA POWER BOARD AND MEETING DATES DISCUSSION DEFERRED j The absence of a return of the 1 meeting date’s employed by other elec-tric-power boards led to the deferring ; by the Waitemata Electric-Power ' Board this morning of a proopsal to reduce the number of its meeting days. At the previous meeting of the board, Nil*. W. B. Barlow said the board was i wasting the ratepayers’ money by holding too many meetings, and Mr. G. Trevithick remarked that some of the board’s discussions were childish. Both | observations caused dissent. In a notice of motion brought forJ ward this morning, Mr. Darlow sought tho fixing of meetings in open board at once fortnightly instead of weekly j meetings alternately in committee and j in open board. ' “Harsh language was used last : meeting’, and the question should be I settled now,” said Mr. J. Mackie, to the j proposal to defer tlu.- notice until the ; ' return is supplied. Mr. Barlow said j I the return would be vital to his notice, i and the question was deferred.
