TWO GOOD CATCHES Special to THS SUN RUSSEL!.., Saturday. Mr. Russell Ferguson, of Scotland, one of the delegates of the British farmers’ party visiting New Zealand, arrived at Otihui Bay today and intends to spend a holiday on the deep sea fishing grounds off Cape Brett. Mr. H. S. Straw bridge, of Russell, who is an ardent deep sea fisherman, visited tho fishing grounds'today for the first time this season when lie successfully landed two big swordfish. No sooner had he started his first drift than he felt a decided tug at his bait and the line ran off at lightning speed. The monster kept the angler busily engaged for an hour before it was brought to gaff. Jn liis second drift he hooked another marlin, and although it was a smaller one than the last, it put up a frantic fight which lasted over half an hour. The fish, when brought into Otihui Bay to be officially recorded, turned the scales at 29Slb and 2061 b respectively. * * c Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Btishnell, of New York, after spending a fortnight at the sea fishing grounds, returned to Auckland yesterday.
