FIVE PEOPLE INJURED
COLLISION BETWEEN GIG AND CREAM LORRY From Our Own Correspondent WAIHI, Today. Five persons were injured last evening when a gig in which they were driving to Waihi came into collision with a cream lorry, driven by Mr. John Alexander Broadtoot, of Waihi. Herbert C. Howe and Mrs. Howe both suffered shock and severe cuts to the head, while their son Vernon, aged three, received a gash on his right foot. Mrs. Edith Gollop had her legs badly bruised and her brother. Thomas Gibson, aged IS, suffered slight abrasions to the head. Mr. and Mrs. Howe and their son were admitted to the Waihi Hospital, the former two being in a serious condition. Mr. Howe was still unconscious. The accident occurred in Franklin Read. The gig was wrecked and the lorry badly damaged.
